New initiative to develop export capacity of Moldovan agri-food enterprises

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Republic of Moldova, together with USAID’s Effective Agriculture of Moldova (APM) program, has held an online presentation about a new Exporter’s Academy within the project, “Increasing the export capacities of Moldovan companies in the high-value agri-food sector to access new markets.” The project will be implemented from January to October 2021 and applications will be accepted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry until February 11, 2021.

According to¸ the target group of this project are owners, directors, and commercial managers responsible for export within the enterprises in the agri-food sector with high added value , having the following activity profile: growing pome and stone fruits, berries, table grapes (emphasis on seedless varieties); field and greenhouse vegetables, including green crops; frozen and processed fruits and vegetables; and organic crop products as well as honey. The objective is to increase the theoretical knowledge, skills, and abilities for those involved in the marketing and export of high value-added agri-food products.

Fifty companies will be selected and divided into two groups: beginners and intermediate/experienced exporters. The groups will be offered two different Exporter’s Academy courses with seminar programs tailored to the needs of the participants. In both cases, participants will have to acquire the skills to promote their products on foreign markets through the database of commercial opportunities of the Enterprise Europe Network.

Participants at the Exporter’s Academy will benefit from individual mentoring and coaching services on foreign markets. The highest performing enterprises will be selected based on criteria to participate in the Moldova-Austria Manager Qualification Increase Program, including the study visit to Austria as well as participation in international agri-food exhibitions.
