De Pere, Wis.-based Skogen’s Festival Foods will buy three Trig’s stores from the T.A. Solberg Co. under the terms of a recently announced deal.

The stores, located at 110 South 17th Ave. in Wausau, 6205 Business Highway 51 in Weston and 1600 Academy Avenue in Stevens Point (all in Wisconsin), will bring Festival Foods’ total store tally to 39, the company noted in a news release. The T.A. Solberg Co. will continue to operate five Trig’s stores and maintain its wide-ranging other business interests, including Trig’s Ace Hardware, Twice is Nice Consignment and the Tasmania Northwoods Resort.

“Festival Foods is a natural fit for us,” T.A. Solberg President and CEO Bob Jaskolski said in a statement. “They share many of our core values and have a strong commitment to their associates and the community. I know that our southern stores will be in the best hands while we look forward to continued growth in Wisconsin’s Northwoods.”

Family- and employee-owned Festival Foods was founded in 1946 as Skogen’s IGA. In January, the company promoted Randy Munns to COO and Frank Abnet to SVP of operations.
