Mediacorp Canada recently announced the winners of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2025, highlighting the companies committed to employee well-being, professional development, and community engagement.
The following 13 F&B companies made the list:
- Campbell Company of Canada provides new parents with maternity and parental leave top-up to 100 per cent of salary for up to 17 weeks for mothers and 10 weeks for fathers or adoptive parents. Employees also have the option to gradually phase in their return to work. The company supports long-term financial security with a pension plan and offers a lifestyle spending account for contributions to various savings plans.
- Conagra Brands Canada supports employees with retirement planning assistance and matches contributions to retirement savings plans. The company encourages volunteerism, offering employees two paid days off annually for community service. It also provides family planning benefits, including coverage for fertility treatments and adoption assistance.
- General Mills Canada offers flexible work options, including no mandatory in-office days and the ability to work outside of the province for up to 30 days per year. - Hershey Canada supports volunteerism with two paid volunteer days and a $500 donation for every 50 hours volunteered. Employees are also encouraged to give back with matching donations of up to US$5,000. The company offers year-end bonuses and product discounts to its employees.
- Kraft Heinz Canada provides flexible health benefits and discounts on company products. Employees can also participate in cooking lessons with corporate chefs. The company’s LiveWell committee promotes wellness initiatives that support physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
- Labatt Breweries of Canada offers free fitness memberships and organizes social events at its Toronto head office. Employees benefit from a Family-Forming program that covers fertility treatments and adoption costs. The company also supports retirement planning with contributions to pension plans and continued health benefits after retirement.
- Lactalis Canada encourages employee involvement in charitable initiatives, including food donations to Food Banks Canada and school breakfast programs. The company also supports professional development through rotational programs and leadership training, as well as employee referral bonuses.
- Mars Canada provides a dog-friendly office environment and has generous maternity and parental leave policies, offering 100 per cent of the salary for up to 23 weeks for mothers and up to 18 weeks for fathers and adoptive parents. Employees also receive referral bonuses and signing bonuses for certain positions.
- McCain Foods offers fertility support payments and maternity/parental leave top-ups, as well as a post-secondary scholarship program for employees’ children. The company promotes work-life balance with hybrid work options and its “Flex Fridays” program, which allows employees to leave work early on Fridays.
- Mondelez Canada supports ongoing employee development through in-house training and external tuition subsidies. The company also provides generous maternity and parental leave top-up payments and adoption subsidies.
- Nestle Canada offers a range of social events for employees, including summer barbecues and holiday parties. Employees receive four weeks of vacation after three years on the job and can access a variety of financial benefits, including pension contributions, home and auto insurance discounts, and discounted products.
- PepsiCo Canada provides fertility and adoption support and maternity leave top-ups. Employees are encouraged to volunteer in their communities and receive matching donations for their charitable contributions. The company also offers discounts on home and auto insurance, as well as a share purchase plan for all employees.
- Unilever Canada provides various development opportunities, including internships, mentoring, and professional accreditations. The company offers fertility drug coverage, adoption assistance, and maternity/parental leave top-ups. Unilever also supports retirement planning with both defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans.
