Food festivals are a summertime treat in Vancouver. Featuring great bites, sweet sips, and oftentimes, good tunes, a food festival can be a perfect addition to a seasonal itinerary for both locals and visitors alike.

To help get you out and eating, we’ve rounded up a few upcoming (and ongoing) food festivals to check out this month. Of course, if you’re hungry for more, there’s always the epic lineup of food vendors on offer at the Richmond Night Market to check out too.

Steveston Spot Prawn & Seafood Celebration

When: Now through June 16

Where: Steveston

Already in full swing, the Steveston Spot Prawn & Seafood Celebration celebrates all things fresh from the sea — with a special emphasis on spot prawns, of course. Featuring a handful of local vendors on the wharf including Captain Quinn’s Coastal Catch, Prawns on the Spot and more, the festival also includes a free, family-friendly Spot Prawn Day happening June 8 that will feature live music, street performers and more.

Brewery & The Beast

When: June 2

Where: Concord Pacific Place, 811 Carrall St., Vancouver

If you love meat and craft beer, you won’t want to miss the annual Brewery & The Beast festival. The one-day barbecue event sees a who’s-who of local restaurants and chefs from the likes of Anh and Chi, La Taqueria, Medina and Published on Main grill up their best and boldest while beverage providers such as Central City Brewing, Tito’s Vodka and Black Sage Vineyard provide the sips.

Vancouver Ice Cream Festival

When: June 21-Aug. 5

Where: Various locations

Back for its second year, this celebration of all things ice cream sees 25 ice cream and gelato outposts from around Metro Vancouver showcase their best scoops and sweetest creations. Participating parlours include BETA5, Bella Gelateria, Beaucoup Bakery, Glenburn, Whisk Matcha and many more.

B.C. Seafood Festival

When: June 21-23

Where: Mount Washington, Comox Valley

We’re spoiled for stellar seafood here in B.C. And the bounty of seafood-leaning food festivals that take place every year proves that point. Celebrating the sea’s bounty in all its forms, the B.C. Seafood Festival on Vancouver Island features event highlights such as a gala dinner, oyster bar happy hour, seafood brunch cookout and much more. It’s well worth the ferry ride.

Foodstock

When: June 23

Where: Swangard Stadium (6100 Boundary Rd., Burnaby)

Part food festival part fundraiser, Foodstock supports the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Featuring a full roster of bands — Yukon Blonde, The Matinee, Mivule, The Hausplants and Suppertime — the event boasts games and activities, along with food truck favourite such as Chickpea, Food Daddy and Munchu Picchu. Quench your thirst while vibing to the good tunes and fresh eats on the Beverage Boulevard featuring Main Street Beer, Luppolo Brewing Company, Pacific Breeze Winery and others.
