The “Organic D” farm from the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine plans to export onions to Saudi Arabia. Lead manager Vadim Krychkovsky said: “We cooperate with various companies that help us access markets, with the European funds aid.”
“We had several negotiations with large buyers from Saudi Arabia who are interested in Ukrainian products. After assessing our potential and the requirements of global legislation, we decided to export onions. Other crops that we grow – potatoes and carrots – may spoil if sent washed.”
According to Krychkovsky, there were certain conditions for packaging. Onions should be in a three-kilogram package, branded. There are also conditions for a minimum batch. “We have already passed all the stages. We have a company in Vinnytsia that plans to build a platform to load containers directly in Vinnytsia, and they will be sent to Saudi Arabia. They provide logistics,” Vadim Krichkovsky told east-fruit.com .The farm has a Global G.A.P certificate. Last year, the company produced 600 tons of onions, 3,000 tons of carrots, 500 tons of beets and 400 tons of potatoes.
