New click-and-collect service in Casino stores

Following the successful commercial partnership between Monoprix and Amazon since March 2018, Amazon and the Casino group will reinforce their alliance to further facilitate the daily life of the French consumers, by offering them a new click-and-collect service in the Casino stores. The goal is to offer Amazon customers a broader selection of food products throughout France, and to introduce new customers to the expertise of the Casino chain in terms of food e-commerce.

For over three years, Amazon and the Casino group have been working together on new solutions to facilitate the daily life of their clients including express food delivery services and parcel collection points.

This new phase is in line with the partnership between Casino and Amazon, concluded in March 2018
To this day, the Monoprix and Naturalia stores, available on Amazon.fr for Prime members, cover 70% of the French population, as well as the cities of Bordeaux, Lyon, Nice and Montpellier.

More than 9,000 Monoprix and Naturalia references are available on the Amazon website for free delivery within 2 hours for purchases of 60 euros or more.

Additionally, 600 Amazon Lockers collection points have been deployed in Casino and Monoprix stores, and several new installations are already planned for the coming weeks.

In light of these results, Amazon and Casino will soon deploy a new click-and-collect service with the Casino stores in France.

Casino and Amazon pool their respective strengths with a new click-and-collect service
This new service will be deployed from July in Annecy and Clermont-Ferrand, as well as in a dozen Casino stores by the end of the summer. It will allow Amazon Prime members to order online from a selection of more than 9,000 food references (national brands and Casino brands), and to collect their purchase in one of the 180 Casino click-and-collect points (Géant Casino and Casino Supermarkets) that will be deployed by the summer of 2022 throughout France.

With this new service, the Casino group continues with its digital strategy by adding a new distribution channel for its products and allowing Amazon customers to have access to a broader food offer of quality products.

According to Jean-Charles Naouri, chairman and CEO of the Casino group, “this new phase is fully in line with the development strategy of the Casino group, whose goal is to develop the widest possible range of local services in terms of food e-commerce. Our omnichannel strategy is therefore taking a new step forward by continuing to meet the new expectations from consumers who choose more and more to shop online for food products.”

According to Tina Schuler, general manager of the Casino chain, “this partnership illustrates the recognition of Casino’s expertise in food e-commerce. Our ambition is to become the leader in France by proposing the best offer, best prices and best service quality for everyone, everywhere, all the time. We are very pleased to make these services available to Amazon customers.”

“We are delighted to collaborate with the Casino group and offer this new click-and-collect service which will allow Prime members to benefit from an even larger selection of food products,” explains Frédéric Duval, general manager of Amazon.fr. “Eventually, this new service will simplify their lives everywhere in France.”
