Aleesha Harris reviews the limited-edition Chocolate White Fudge, Sour Cream Chocolate Chip and Birthday Cake Waffle Timbit flavours, created by singer Justin Bieber and Tim Hortons

In case you haven’t heard, the much buzzed-about collaboration between Justin Bieber and Tim Hortons was released today .
The Canadian singer teamed up with the coffee chain to create three limited-edition Timbit flavours — cheekily dubbed “Timbiebs” — along with a small selection of merchandise.
The three flavours, Chocolate White Fudge, Sour Cream Chocolate Chip, and Birthday Cake Waffle sounded intriguing. And, admittedly, the online buzz about them helped, too.
So, I decided to try them out.

After waiting in the lineup at my local Tim Hortons for a box of 10 Timbiebs ($3.19) — the drive-thru lineup was way too long — I settled in to experience the flavour combinations that were created after a “multi-stage, iterative journey” of creation with the Director of Culinary Innovation for Tim Hortons, Chef Tallis Voakes.
I’ll admit, I was a tad disappointed when my box of donuts were handed to me in a red Tim Hortons holiday box. I had been hoping for the brown-and-yellow box with “Timbiebs” on the side in a retro bubbly font that I had been seeing all over social media.
Once home, I settled in with my small coffee to try the three new flavours.
Two of the three flavours stick pretty close to their original iterations. The Sour Cream Chocolate Chip tastes like a typical sour cream-glazed Timbit, but with a few mini chocolate drops on it, and the Chocolate White Fudge is obviously just a glazed chocolate Timbit dressed up with a few accoutrements.

The Birthday Cake Waffle, which seemed to be a fast favourite among online reviewers , steps a little further outside the Timbit Timbiebs box by adding an even sweeter flavour layer to the brand’s already sweet birthday cake-flavoured Timbit. While some reviewers noted strong notes of maple syrup , mine skewed more cinnamon-y.
Perhaps there was some cross contamination in the Timbit production process.
Overall, the Timbiebs — for the record, I still think not calling them BieberBits was a missed opportunity — provide a touch more texture and sweetness than the usual lineup of donut drops.
Not to mention a bit of harmless, social media-fuelled food fun on a Monday afternoon.
