The Save Mart Cos. is launching its Curbside Pickup at all Save Mart and FoodMaxx grocery stores in Northern Nevada, expanding its partnership with retail enablement platform Instacart. Beginning May 16, all Reno, Carson City and Sparks Save Mart and FoodMaxx stores will offer shoppers the convenient curbside pickup service powered by Instacart. There are seven Save Mart stores in Reno, Sparks and Carson City, and two Food Maxx stores in Carson City and Sparks.
The Save Mart and FoodMaxx store locations will also offer electronic benefits transfer (EBT) payments, allowing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) beneficiaries to utilize Instacart’s same-day grocery delivery and pickup services.
“We are proud to provide another way to help meet the needs of our communities in Reno, Carson City and Sparks while offering the best value without compromising quality,” said Donovan Ford, senior vice president retail operations and supply chain, The Save Mart Cos. “Instacart’s Curbside ordering process offers our Save Mart and FoodMaxx shoppers a convenient solution to easily access and pick up competitively priced products and fresh foods to enjoy with family and friends.”
Save Mart and FoodMaxx shoppers can utilize Curbside Pickup service by downloading the Save Mart or FoodMaxx app on their phone or tablet. The app easily guides users through the ordering process. Customers can also enter their EBT SNAP card information as a form of payment. Customers will need a secondary form of payment for nonfood items such as taxes, tips and fees, per federal EBT SNAP guidelines.
“Since first partnering with The Save Mart Companies in 2019, we’re proud to deepen our relationship today and power their same-day delivery and pickup services across Nevada,” said Chris Rogers, vice president of retail for San Francisco-based Instacart. “We understand that customers are seeking an accessible, seamless online grocery experience, and we look forward to continuing to serve as a retail enablement partner as The Save Mart Companies continue to evolve their e-commerce offering.”
After placing their order online and scheduling a pickup time, shoppers pick up their grocery order at a designated parking spot at their neighborhood Save Mart or FoodMaxx stores in Reno, Carson City or Sparks. Team members at Save Mart and FoodMaxx stores deliver the grocery order to the designated parking spot and will load them into the car.
The Save Mart Companies, based in Modesto, Calif., operates approximately 200 Save Mart, Lucky California and FoodMaxx stores in California and Northern Nevada.
