Wall’s Pastry has paired its family-favourite rolls with a hit of tangy pickle in two new products.

Having launched into Asda on Wednesday 11 May, the Pork and Pickle Sausage Rolls and Cheddar and Pickle Cheese Rolls will offer hungry shoppers something different in the savoury snacking category.

Bringing something new to the sausage roll category, the rolls introduce a tangy pickle flavouring as the perfect partner to a succulent pork and a sumptuous flaky pastry. The rolls are available in packs of four and will cost £1.75.

Vegetarian customers can also shop with a smile, with the Cheddar and Pickle Cheese Rolls expected to become a meat-free favourite, ready to hit shelves during the summer season.

Jason Manley, head of marketing for Wall’s Pastry, said: “We’re delighted to bring a new taste into the category. Pork, cheese and pickle have long been flavours that pair beautifully together so we’re excited to be bringing this to consumers with our two new products.

“As well as new flavours, these products bring with them the opportunity to expand into new occasions. As well as traditional picnics and on-the-go snacking, the tangy pickle is ideal for barbecues and celebrations with a ‘Ploughman’s lunch’ feel.”

The new rolls are the first to feature Wall’s Pastry’s fresh new look, which features bolder colours and enticing food shots to improve ‘appetite appeal’ and food values, and provide a strong shelf stand-out while retaining instant brand familiarity. A new ‘The UK’s Favourite’ flash will also reinforce Wall’s Pastry’s position as the number one pastry roll brand.

Jason added: “The new look for the packaging brings a rejuvenated warmth to the brand, with appetising imagery and an epic stand-out font helping consumers to find their favourite products easily.

“We’re looking forward to seeing how our customers respond to the new look and where these new products and packaging designs take us over the next year as the brand continues to affirm its position as the UK’s number one brand.”
