Supermarket News announces Chloe Riley as executive editor

Supermarket News announced that it has named Chloe Riley its new executive editor, effective August 16.

Riley brings several years’ experience in B2B media to the role, as well as a deep understanding of how to use digital tools to both connect with audiences as well as develop platform-specific brand identity.

“The future of business media doesn’t just require industrial and institutional knowledge; it also requires a creative approach to reaching audiences, particularly through digital platforms,” said Sam Oches, editorial director of Informa’s Restaurant & Food Group, parent to Supermarket News. “We were impressed by Chloe’s experience in B2B media, but particularly excited by her knowledge of digital innovation and leveraging online tools to maximize an organization’s reach. This expertise will help solidify Supermarket News as the publication of choice for the retail professionals of both today and tomorrow.”

Riley previously worked as an editor with HOTELS magazine, spearheading that publication’s digital strategy and overseeing the development of social media campaigns and premium newsletters. Prior to that, she was a Chicago-based journalist covering politics, criminal justice, and theater for local and national publications including The Guardian, Huffington Post, the alt-weekly Chicago Reader, and others.

Most recently, she served as CEO and founder of Chlowe Strategy LLC, a digital strategy consulting firm that leveraged a combination of lead-generation initiatives, user experience, and social media marketing to drive digital growth.

“I am so excited to start working with the teams at Supermarket News and Informa’s Restaurant & Food Group,” Riley said. “The supermarket industry is such an exciting and dynamic space, and I’m looking forward to building innovative digital products that connect and engage with the modern retail professional.”

Riley can be contacted at [email protected].
