IGA’s Local Accelerator unveils first cohort

IGA unveils the first cohort of 18 Quebec companies that will join its Local Accelerator program. Eight companies from this cohort will also see their products making their way onto IGA store shelves.

The 18 companies are:

1. Animalia and its dry treats for cats and dogs, made with fish by-products – Gaspésie 

2. Boucherie Face de boeuf and its line of beef products from livestock farms – Estrie 

3. Circle Pizza and its fermented pizza crust – Capitale-Nationale 

4. Confitures Tigidou and its strawberry jam from Île d’Orléans – Capitale-Nationale 

5. Giuseppe Sachetti and its artisanal pizzas – Montreal 

6. GRUO and its quick oatmeals – Montreal 

7. La Jambonnière and pork products from its own livestock farms – Centre-du-Québec 

8. Malté and its personal hygiene products made with microbrewery draff – Montérégie 

9. Nälkä Nutrition and its superfoods meal replacement shakes – Montérégie 

10. Noix d’érable and its maple pecans – Beauce 

11. OOYA Infusions and its Guayusa-based tea blends – Montérégie 

12. Pattes vertes and its organic Moringa-based dog biscuits – Capitale-Nationale 

13. Pickle Idéal and its expanded lineup of marinades – Montréal 

14. Poissonnerie Fortier and its burger patties made of salmon and cod cretons – Côte-Nord 

15. Régal Nomade and its dried fruit strips – Laurentians 

16. Seabiosis and its range of products made with algae, which is gently harvested and transformed in Gaspésie – Gaspésie 

17. SETA Organic and its organic and vegan latté powder – Laurentians 

18. Tofutofu and its ready-to-eat tofu made from Quebec-grown, organic soy – Laval 

“We were impressed by the enthusiastic response to the Local Accelerator. Meeting with all of those ambitious and creative companies prompted us to nearly double the size of our first cohort. Quebecers can be proud of the innovation taking place in our food industry! We eagerly await the moment when they can discover the products that emerge from this edition,” said Mireille Thibodeau, VP, fresh merchandising, Sobeys/IGA. 

IGA will provide its material, financial and human resources to meet the specific needs of each company. That means each “acceleree” will benefit from the guidance of a team of experts selected to respond to the company’s situation and challenges.
