Devon-based, fast-growing dairy business, Millbrook Dairy Company, has expanded its business into the trade butter market.

The business, which recently announced a 30% increase in turnover in 2021/2022 compared to the previous year with revenues up from £20m to £26m, is focusing on key areas of the market including butter portions into the fine dining on the go market for airlines, railways and cruise liners, and bulk butter into bakeries, patisseries, food service and manufacturing sector.

The company, which was founded in 2019 by respected dairy industry experts, David Evans and Kevin Beer, supplies a diverse range of premium quality British and Irish cheese to a growing home market and international customer base.

The move into the trade butter market marks another major step in the company’s journey of growth and development.

Key to the company’s butter range are individual butter portions, which are known as ‘size seven’ and can be between 5.8g and 7g each, 250g packs and 25kg bulk butter. The brands Millbrook Dairy is working with include Shirgar Welsh Butter, a traditional Welsh flavoursome butter from Carmarthenshire.

Kevin Beer, co-founder of Millbrook Dairy Company said: “The expansion into the trade butter market is a significant step in our growth plan. We work with cream producers, blenders and packers to maintain competitive pricing and premium quality for our trade butter customers which include major international catering companies serving railways, airlines, cruise ships, restaurants, lounges and hotels across the world as well as niche fine food outlets.”

David Evans, co-founder of Millbrook Dairy Company added: “We are delighted with the success we are having with our trade butter offer across the various formats. We are excited with how this part of our business is expanding and we are always on the lookout for new opportunities with our suppliers and customers. These are exciting times for us as a business as we strive ahead with our ambitious growth strategy.”
