Price Chopper/Market 32 has expanded its partnership with fresh grocery platform Invafresh, which already helps the 131-store supermarket chain prevent 20 tons of food from being wasted each week.
By integrating in-store production data with the solution provider’s Fresh Retail Platform, Invafresh helps Price Chopper/Market 32 forecast more intelligently and accurately as well as manage replenishment, production and inventory. Now, a move to the cloud will provide the retailer with real-time analytics and compliance reporting along with enhanced forecasting capabilities, according to Patrick Iannotti, Director of Retail Operations at Price Chopper/Market 32.
“With Invafresh we have increased sales by improving on-shelf availability and have reduced food waste by having fresher products,” said Jody Plonski, VP of Operations at Price Chopper/Market 32 in a statement. “Because of Invafresh’s reliable and easy-to-use application, our in-store teammates can redeploy their time to customer-facing activities, which has led to an overall better shopping experience for our customers.”
“We know that most problems in fresh are related to forecasting the constant shifts in demand and the need to optimize and match supply and availability,” said Tim Spencer, CEO of Invafresh in a statement. “With the intelligent forecasting and real-time analytics capabilities in our Fresh Retail Platform, Price Chopper/Market 32 has been able to address those problems and make a measurable impact on the food waste front.”
Supermarket retailer Weis Markets also began working with Invafresh in August 2022.
