Selected from a longlist of new restaurants nominated by food industry experts, the 10 top restaurants were chosen by food critic and author of Canada’s Best New Cookbook, Amy Rosen. Rosen reportedly visited and dined at 30 restaurants across Canada during a month-long “secret” journey in order to narrow down the final list.
Restaurants were chosen on a variety of criteria including overall service, quality of food, and “commitment to culinary creativity.” All eateries were opened between late spring 2022 and May 31, 2023.
Now in its 22nd year, the Canada’s Best New Restaurants program aims to provide a “platform to spotlight emerging culinary excellence across the country,” according to Andy Shibata, vice-president of brand at Air Canada.
