Hung’s Noodles celebrates 40 years of business and community growth

Calgary, AB, – Hung’s Noodles is proud to announce 40 years of business in Fall 2023. Since its inception in 1983, Hung’s Noodles has been committed to serving the community and providing fresh, authentic noodles and wrappers for restaurants and retail.

Hung’s Noodles has grown from a small family business that started in the basement of a family member’s restaurant to a mid size family owned company that manufactures their award winning products in a 8000 square foot facility. Throughout the years, Hung’s noodles has wanted to convey a friendship first mentality throughout their business practices.

“The business was really founded to serve a specific community, and for a really long time that was kind of what it felt like, it was what we were limited to. In most recent years, the Canadian palate has really shifted with people travelling way more than they used to and there’s just people who love food more too.” – Joanne Hung, ‘Noodle Slinger’

For the past 40 years Hung’s has focused on serving the communities around them and building relationships with the people who love their products and have loved it for generations, moving forward Hung’s is working on bringing their business to noodle lovers and chefs across the prairies to continue fostering positive relationships and delivering an authentic culinary experience.

“It’s kind of open. It’s really exciting. And we’re certainly looking forward to what the future holds.” – Joanne Hung

For their 40 year anniversary Hung’s Noodles will be running a Food For Our Community campaign in partnership with Calgary Meals on Wheels, the Wing-Kei Nursing Home Association which is a not for profit organization located in Crescent Heights, and The Calgary Chinese Elderly Citizens’ Association which is a non profit organization located in Downtown Calgary. Both organizations provide a wide variety of services to older Chinese citizens in the city to ensure complete and comprehensive care and community building.

Hung’s Noodles has been proud to serve their community and to continue serving their community and others around Western Canada for the next 40 years and beyond.

“In the last 10 years, our company has been able to go from a small business that kind of caters to our community and does some safe things with a broader market, to really being freed up to proudly share our culture, and talk about who we are and what we do. And you know, I feel sometimes that we’re kind of like, I don’t know, we’re almost like a best kept secret.” – Joanne Hung
