Lino A. Saputo named to the Order of Canada

Longtime grocery executive Lino A. Saputo has been named to the Order of Canada.

The chair of the board, president, and CEO of Saputo Inc. received the prestigious honour for his career as a corporate leader and philanthropic efforts.

Given to accomplished Canadian business leaders and politicians, Saputo is now the second from the company to receive the honour.

He followed in the footsteps of Saputo Inc.’s founder, Emanuele (Lino) Saputo, who was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2012. Over the last 35 years with the company, he was named CEO in 2004 and chair of the board in 2017. He was previously appointed vice chair in 2011.

Furthermore, he has served on the board of directors of Transcontinental Inc. He also holds positions on the National Bank of Canada and Global Dairy Platform Inc. boards.
