Valentine’s Day is a day for roses, chocolates — and a good, old-fashioned dinner date.

To help narrow down the list of romantic restaurants to enjoy a delicious meal at this holiday, OpenTable has released its list of Canada’s Top 100 Romantic Restaurants. And six are located in Metro Vancouver.

According to the restaurant reservation platform, Lupo Restaurant & Vinoteca and the Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant are the two most romantic eateries in the city. In North Vancouver, that honour goes to PIER 7 Restaurant and Bar in Shipyard Square.

Further out in Metro, Burnaby’s Hart House Restaurant made the best-of list, along with Old Surrey Restaurant  and ATLAS Steak + Fish in Langley. But these six hot spots weren’t the only restaurants to make the list.

In total, 11 B.C. eateries were named to the top 100, with the final five restaurants including: Block One Restaurant at 50th Parallel Winery, Home Block at CedarCreek Estate Winery, and Old Vines Restaurant at Quails’ Gate Winery, all in Kelowna; PeakFine at Sparkling Hill Resort in Vernon; and Vista 18 Restaurant + Lounge in Victoria.

Billed as “highlighting Canadians’ favourite spot for rendezvous” on the day of love, according to OpenTable Canada country director Matt Davis, the list of 100 most romantic restaurants was created using data from more than 1.1 million verified OpenTable diner reviews from Dec. 1, 2022 to Nov. 30, 2023.

OpenTable’s additional information suggest reservations for Feb. 14 meals be placed by Feb. 9 in order to increase your chances of getting a spot. The reservation app also noted that 22 per cent of diners polled are preparing to eat alone this year.
