Trader Joe’s is in need of a clean month.
The retailer, which has been marred in recalls for almost a year now, announced there are issues with its Soft-Baked Snickerdoodles with a best by date of Feb. 3, 2023. Trader Joe’s said the product may contain hard plastic pieces.
The Monrovia, Calif.-based retailer has not received word on any reported injuries from the cookies and has pulled the product from shelves.
Earlier this month, Trader Joe’s recalled its Chicken, Lentil, & Caramelized Onion Pilaf just a couple of weeks after the frozen food made its debut due to “foreign material.”
During the second half of 2023 the retailer made a total of six product recalls. The first of the recalls also involved cookies when rocks were discovered. Rocks were also found in Trader Joe’s brand of falafel, and bugs were found in the retailer’s broccoli cheddar soup.
Multigrain crackers were pulled from the shelves last year when it was discovered some of the packages contained metal.
In at least three of the cases, Trader Joe’s blamed the manufacturing process at the facilities where the products were being made.
