Protein Industries’ CEO moves to deputy minister role in Saskatchewan govt.

Protein Industries Canada’s inaugural CEO, Bill Greuel, is leaving the organization to join the Saskatchewan government’s agriculture department as a deputy minister.

Greuel, who has been with the organization since Oct. 2018, will leave the company on July 31st.

“Bill has demonstrated strong leadership to (the company) and has been instrumental in our success to date,” chair of the board of directors, Tyler Groeneveld, said. “Under his leadership, the organization has grown from one employee to 26 and currently manages investments worth more than half a billion dollars.”

The board will announce the appointment of an interim CEO in the coming weeks meanwhile it is searching for a permanent CEO.

CTO Meghan Gervais is also leaving the company to join Federated Co-op (FCL) as the VP of Health, Safety and Compliance. Her last day will be July 31st.

Gervais has been with the company since spring 2019, serving as the CTO since May 2022, and previously as the manager of intellectual property. The work of the CTO will be handled internally over the short term.
