PNE offers half-price tickets after rain puts a damper on weekend

There’s an old truism that if it’s raining in summer in Vancouver, the PNE must be on.

This year has been no different, with several days of rainfall heading into the weekend putting a damper on the fun at the east Vancouver fairgrounds.

In response, the PNE is offering half-price gate admission to the Fair Tuesday through Thursday, Aug. 27 to 29. (The PNE is closed on Mondays except for the finale on Labour Day, Sept. 2.)

“Following several rainy days, including a record-setting rainfall on Saturday, Aug. 24, the PNE Fair is announcing a 50 per cent discount on pairs of Fair tickets sold” for three days, said PNE spokesperson Laura Ballance in a statement Sunday.

“Response to the 2024 Fair has been very positive, but following some significant rain last week and through Saturday, we wanted to get the Fair kick-started again going into our final weekend.”

Sale-priced tickets must be bought in multiples of two and be of the same type. They are available online or at ticket booths on site, with discounts for advance purchases.
