Undeclared molluscs

In the UK this week, Waitrose is recalling its Chinese Takeaway Bag for 2 because it contains molluscs, which are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to molluscs.

The recall includes all use by dates between 21 September and 4 December 2024.

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to molluscs, do not eat it. Instead return it to your local Waitrose branch for a full refund.

Incorrect use by date

Tesco is recalling its own brand 8 Chicken Tsukune Skewers because they have been labelled with a use by date of 23/12/2024 instead of 10/12/2024.

This makes them unsafe to eat after the 10 December 2024 date.

If you have bought any of the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to any Tesco store for a full refund.

Presence of small stones and metal

Waitrose is recalling ZOE Daily 30+ 7 Day (112.5g) because it may contain small stones and small pieces of metal.

The recalled product features the batch codes 24266A, 24267A, 24270A and has a best before date of 30 September 2025.

Consumers are advised not to eat it. Instead return it to your local Waitrose branch for a full refund.

Potential Salmonella contamination

Following both Baloian Farms of Arizona and Sunfed Produce, LLC recently recalling of all their cucumbers because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, multiple US brands have recalled this week.

Salmonella can cause serious infections in people with weakened immune systems and may lead to fever, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain in healthy individuals.

Consumers should not consume these products; instead, they should either dispose of them or return them to the store where they were purchased.

Potential E. coli contamination

4Earth Farms is recalling multiple brands of Organic Vegetable Medley, Conventional Vegetable Medley, and Organic Whole Carrots because it may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli) O121:H19.

E. coli O121:H19 is a bacterium that can cause severe and potentially fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include severe stomach cramps, diarrhoea (sometimes bloody), fever, nausea, and vomiting.

The recall was initiated after 4Earth Farms was notified by Grimmway Farms, Inc. that carrots used in the Vegetable Medleys and Whole Organic Carrots may have been contaminated with E. coli O121:H19.

No illnesses have been reported to 4Earth Farms to date.

Product can be identified with Best by dates of 7 September 2024 through 2 November 2024.

Consumers are urged to discard the product.

Listeria monocytogenes contamination

Baker Farms is recalling its Curly Mustard, 16 oz. plastic bags due to contamination of Listeria monocytogenes. 

The recalled products feature the best by 11-21-2024, UPC: 8 13098 02018 4, Lot Code: bak144-6806.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe, sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.

Healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhoea. In pregnant women, infection can lead to miscarriage or stillbirth.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume the product but to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or they may discard the product. 

Undeclared milk

Atkinson Milling Company is recalling a variety of its hushpuppies due to undeclared milk allergen.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
