Agriculture leaders honoured with King Charles III Coronation medal

Ontario’s agriculture royalty received a king’s welcome to Parliament Hill in late November.

“I was privileged to present the King Charles III Coronation Medal to 15 recipients in the Senate Chamber,” Senator Rob Black said of the Nov. 22 event via social media. “The medal honours Canadians who have distinguished themselves through outstanding contributions and service to their communities, their province and Canada.”

Agriculture, conservation and education power couple Lillie Ann Morris and Donald Lobb, from Rockwood, were honoured for their decades-long contributions to agriculture.

Farm and Food Care Ontario executive director Kelly Ann Daynard of Guelph, and “Farmer Tim” May of Rockwood were recognized for Daynard’s educational programs and May’s social media presence.

Cathy Lennon, executive director of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture from Rockwood, was recognized for her community service alongside Janet Horner from Mulmur and Gary West from Shakespeare.

Vincent Brennen from Stirling, Meredith Gilbert Brophy from Osgoode, Evelyne Chambers from Lindsay, Christine Dukelow from Beaverton, Russell Gammon from Fergus, Susan Harrop from Fergus, Patricia Jane Muegge from Clinton, Christine Oldfield from Guelph, and Wendy Whittaker from Rockwood were awarded the medal for their outstanding service in promoting agriculture, education, youth development and public service.
