Lidl has issued a recall for four varieties of its Alesto Raw Fruit & Nut Bars after it was discovered they may contain pieces of plastic, making them unsafe to eat.

The supermarket warned that due to the “possible presence of plastic foreign bodies”, the snack bars may present a “choking hazard”.

All packs carry the batch code L24316 and L24337 and best before dates of November 2025 and December 2025.

Point-of-sale notices are being displayed in all Lidl stores selling these products to inform customers about the recall and the return process.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) added: “If you have bought any of the above products do not consume them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund. For further information, please contact Lidl Customer Care on [email protected] or 0203 966 5566.”
