June 17, 2025 – Calgary – Calgary Co-operative Association Limited (“Calgary Co-op”) hosted its 30th annual Charity Golf Classic Tournament at the Heritage Pointe Golf Club in Calgary on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
The event raised $300,000 which was evenly distributed to four local charities; The Calgary Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, Unison and Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids. Each charity received a cheque for $75,000 from the Calgary Co-op Community Foundation.
“Community is at the heart of everything we do at Calgary Co-op,” says Penney McTaggart Cowan, Vice President Marketing and Member Experiences and Chair of the Calgary Co-op Community Foundation. “The funds raised for local charities through the support of our partners and vendors at this annual event are a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we come together with a shared purpose.”
This sold-out event, attended by Calgary Co-op’s partners and vendors has raised millions of dollars over the past 30 years to support food security in the community. In the past 10 years alone, this event raised over $2.5 million for Calgary Co-op’s charitable partners.
Calgary Co-op continues to focus on food security and supporting vulnerable populations through its member-driven giving strategy. In 2024, on behalf of its members, Calgary Co-op donated $2.8 million in food and funds to local charities. In addition, Calgary Co-op also supports 300 local producers by featuring over 2,400 local items on store shelves, leading the market in local assortment.
