Meiga Supermarket to close location in Port Moody

July 11, 2025, hən̓̓qəmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh traditional territory / Burnaby, B.C. – Georgia Main Food Group announces Meiga Supermarket will cease its operations in Port Moody on August 8, 2025. While this specific store location is closing, GMFG will continue to look for opportunities and locations for Meiga to operate and new locations are to be determined.

“The reason for Meiga’s closing in Port Moody is based on a variety of business factors and we would like to thank our customers and the community for their support,” said Palle Knudsen, Vice President, Retail Operations, GMFG. “Our human resources and store leadership team will be working closely with our store staff to ensure they are supported during this time of transition.”

Up until the store’s closing on August 8th, Meiga will continue to serve customers with the unique products and services they have come to expect from us and the store will be offering special promotions in all departments.
