The recall covers products shipped to retailers between 21 and 23 July in eight US states: Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin.
This error risks people unknowingly consuming alcohol, which poses health and safety concerns, especially for children or individuals who avoid alcohol for medical or religious reasons. So far, no one has reported illnesses or injuries, but the potential harm has raised serious alarm.
According to a statement on the US Food and Drug Administration’s website, the issue stems from a packaging supplier accidentally sending Celsius-branded cans to High Noon’s facility.
The affected High Noon Beach Variety 12-packs carry lot codes L CCC 17JL25 14:00 to 23:59 and L CCC 18JL25 00:00 to 03:00, printed on the exterior packaging. The mislabelled Celsius cans have silver lids and bottom lot codes L CCB 02JL25 2:55 to 3:11 and were mistakenly packed instead of the usual black-lid Celsius cans.
The company urges consumers with affected packs to contact High Noon Consumer Relations ([email protected]) for disposal and refund instructions.
Earlier in July, Mondelēz recalled four carton sizes of Ritz cracker sandwiches after mistakenly labelling some peanut butter varieties as cheese. While the outer cartons display the correct allergen information, some individual packs inside incorrectly state “Cheese variety” despite containing peanut butter.
