From this month, all Melitta Canada coffee products will be roasted and packaged in Canada through a partnership with a private company. They were previously packaged at Melitta’s U.S. manufacturing facility in Cherry Hill, N.J.
Melitta, the German coffee brand founded in 1908, established its first international subsidiary in Canada in 1960. It sells four Rainforest Alliance Certified 100 per cent Arabica whole bean coffees (Colombia Altura Blend, French Roast, Espresso Bellacrema, Hazelnut Crème) and two ground coffee products (Traditional Medium Roast or Deluxe 100 per cent Colombian Medium Roast).
“The move to roast and package Melitta coffee in Canada reflects the brand’s commitment to Canadian consumers and the Canadian market. For 65 years, as the company’s first international subsidiary, Canada has held special significance, and this step ensures a stronger local connection and streamlined distribution for stores and consumers, while continuing to uphold the premium quality and consistency Canadians have trusted for decades,” said Ian Buckingham, vice president, sales, Melitta Canada.
