Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance Elects New Executive And Board Of Directors

Greg Northey of Pulse Canada was re-elected president.

OTTAWA — The Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance (CAFTA) announced the election of its Executive (2025–2027) and Board of Directors (2025–2026) following its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ottawa.

Greg Northey of Pulse Canada was re-elected president. Cathy Jo Noble of the National Cattle Feeders’ Association was elected vice-president and Kyle Larkin of Grain Growers of Canada was elected treasurer.

The board of directors for 2025–26 includes:

  • Dustin Pike, Canadian Canola Growers Association
  • Jennifer Babcock, Canadian Cattle Association
  • Stephen Heckbert, Canadian Pork Council
  • Sandra Marsden, Canadian Sugar Institute
  • Troy Sherman, Canola Council of Canada
  • Leif Carlson, Cereals Canada
  • Emilie Bergeron, CropLife Canada
  • Dennis Prouse, Food, Health and Consumer Products of Canada
  • Kyle Larkin, Grain Growers of Canada
  • Cathy Jo Noble, National Cattle Feeders’ Association
  • Greg Northey, Pulse Canada
  • Brian Innes, Soy Canada

“I am honoured to continue serving as president of CAFTA,” said Northey. “The year ahead will be important for Canadian agri-food exporters as we work to secure dependable access to markets and navigate a changing global trade environment. Our focus will remain on ensuring strong access to the U.S. and other priority markets, while continuing to advocate for predictable, rules-based trade that keeps our sector competitive.”

“CAFTA’s board reflects the depth and diversity of Canada’s agri-food export sector,” said Michael Harvey, executive director. “Their leadership will ensure CAFTA continues to be a strong and effective voice for exporters.”

CAFTA represents the producers, processors, and exporters from across Canada’s major agri-food export sectors, which includes beef, pork, meat, grains, cereals, pulses, soybeans, canola, sugar, and processed foods sectors.
