Black Fox Farm and Distillery named Worldwide Whisky Producer of the Year

Black Fox Farm and Distillery, Saskatoon, Sask., was recently honoured with the Worldwide Whisky Producer of the Year award at the 2025 International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC), one of the world’s largest spirits awards.

“Few distilleries would dare to let their barrels face blizzards and blazing heat, but for the winner of this year’s Worldwide Whisky Producer Trophy, the weather is part of the recipe,” said an IWSC representative during their awards ceremony in London, England. “From crop to connoisseur, every element is shaped by the extremes of their homeland. The result? Whiskies that carry both place and personality in equal measure.”

Black Fox grows most of its grains on its farm in Saskatchewan. The distillery ages its whisky outdoors regardless of the temperature. This gives its spirits a unique taste.

“These awards celebrate the skill, patience, and precision that go into every drop of our spirits,” said co-founder and CEO Barb Stefanyshyn-Cote. “To be recognized by IWSC among the world’s great producers affirms that exceptional craftsmanship—grounded in integrity, innovation, and respect for the process—can create spirits worthy of standing beside the finest anywhere in the world.”
