While you can’t beat a beer in Dublin, the next best thing on St. Patrick’s Day can be found in an Irish pub abroad.
Vancouver has a handful of authentic Irish outposts where you can celebrate the religious and cultural holiday, which was started between the 9th and 10th century to honour the death of St. Patrick.
Though, these days, it’s much more about celebrating Irish culture — and great green pints. Here are five Irish pubs to check out on March 17 in Vancouver.
216 Carrall St., Vancouver |
A longtime Irish establishment in Vancouver (it was opened in 1972), The Blarney Stone bills itself as “Vancouver’s longest-standing Irish pub.” The pub’s celebrations start at 9 a.m. and run all day.
