On May 15, Amazone announced it had entered into a technology partnership with agricultural technology firm CultiWise.
Amazone is a German farm equipment maker known for its tillage tools, seeders and spray equipment.
CultiWise, based in the Czech Republic, is a cloud-based software tool that develops AI-supported satellite- and drone-based application maps.
The company’s software also provides for drone-to-tractor spot spraying, AI-based weed detection, green-on-green spot spraying and variable-rate applications.
When connected to AmaConnect, Amazone’s cloud-based data platform, these prescription maps, generated via satellite or drone, can be used for more efficient planting when applying fertilizer or spot spraying of crop protection products.
In a press release, Amazone said that the key benefit between the two companies’ partnership was the “digital bridge” it created between application planning and when machinery operates in the field.
As an example, the company said its nozzle control system can improve spray operations by using CultiWise’s spot application maps.
“Calculating application rates in advance based on the technology available makes it significantly easier for farmers to carry out applications with precision and efficiency,” Amazone said in a press release.
Amazone said that the partnership will simplify on-farm processes for farmers and use agricultural equipment more efficiently.
