Calgary is getting a brand-new grocery store opening this week, and it is exciting news for those in the southwest.
Calgary Co-op will be hosting the grand opening for its brand-new Oakridge location on Thursday, March 27. The new 58,000-square-foot grocery store at 2580 Southland Dr. SW.
The store is officially opening at 10 a.m. when customers will be able to visit and check out the brand-new modern food centre. There will also be exclusive savings, giveaways, and in-store tastings to mark the occasion.
Calgary Co-op’s new Oakridge outpost will house a new full-service oyster bar showcasing single oysters on ice, an expanded Natural Choice section, and an onsite florist.
There will also be a pharmacy walk-in clinic where customers will be able to book appointments for consultations on minor ailments, vaccinations, and injections, as well as renew prescriptions.
The new store opening forms part of a larger redevelopment plan for the area, according to the City of Calgary. The third phase of this plan will see the opening of the new Co-op store while the old store is demolished.
