There will be small bites, wine selection and live music overlooking its spectacular estate vineyards on the Golden Mile Bench. L’ Apéro runs Fridays, July 15, 29; Aug. 12 and 26. Tickets are $30 and available online.

• Bard on the Beach returns to live performances for the first time since 2019, with their mainstage production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream running through the summer until Sept. 24.

In addition, you can upgrade your evening during Wine Wednesdays, Aug. 3 and 17 at 6 p.m. You can relax and enjoy the view from the Marquee tent while you sip and savour B.C. wines presented by industry experts and special guests. The ticket price ($50) includes a tasting of premium wines and a curated box of savoury bites from Emelle’s.

Corcelettes Oracle Rosé 2021, Similkameen Valley

This rosé improves every year and now ranks among the best in the country. It’s the perfect vehicle to show off the many attributes of the Similkameen, from its pale, barely there Provencal colour to its mix of guava and raspberries flecked with stony mineral bits and a creamy, pink grapefruit finish. The finesse almost belies its combination of 70/30 Pinot Noir and Syrah, but it’s aided by 90/10 stainless steel and neutral barrel fermentation and aging vessels. Best of all, it’s dry. Dungeness crab, anyone?

Coyam is a winner from top to bottom. Well-balanced, it opens with a dense, dark colour that describes its perfect textures. It has been farmed biodynamically and certified organic for years, only adding to its attraction. The blend is 42 per cent Syrah and 39 per cent Carmenere followed by Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Garnacha, Petit Verdot, Carignan, Tempranillo and Mourvèdre, all grown at an idyllic site in Colchagua. The nose is an expressive black olive, floral and cocoa affair with classic mint in the background. Round and ripe, the tannins are seamless, and the acidity is perfect. I love that winemaker Noelia Orts has taken this Alvaro Espinoza inspiration to even more decadent heights. Los Robles refers to the native oak trees that surround the property.
