Three individuals were recognized at The Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers (CFIG) 61st Canadian Independent Grocer of the Year Awards.
Grocery industry people joined renowned chefs at an event in Toronto to support a surplus food recovery program that helps feed people dealing with food insecurity. The November 6 event, called La Tablée des Chefs, held at the Fairmont Royal York was hosted by co-chairs Jana Sobey, senior vice president of fresh merchandising for Sobeys, and Naniss Gadel-Rab, general manager, nutrition, Canada, for Unilever. Grocery Business attended the event.
