The company contributes to the program for the third year in a row and continues to fight against food waste and food insecurity
Montreal, May 16, 2025 – Bel Group Canada is proud to announce a donation of $166,000 worth of products to Food Banks Canada’s After the Bell program. The After the Bell program is dedicated to addressing food insecurity during the summer months when school-based food programs are not available. Bel Group Canada’s support in helping provide 215,000 healthy food packs highlights the company’s dedication to combating food insecurity and ensuring nutritious options are available for children in food-insecure households.
“We are proud to support Food Banks Canada’s critical work to address food insecurity across the country,” says Marie-Ève Robert, Vice-President of Marketing and Sustainability at Bel Group Canada. “Our contribution to the After the Bell program is part of our ongoing mission to offer healthy and responsible food to all, while engaging our employees to volunteer some of their time to help assemble food packs.”
The donated products include nutritious options like The Laughing Cow® Cheese Dippers and GoGo SqueeZ® fruit sauce pouches, which will be distributed through Food Banks Canada’s vast network, reaching children and families in 235 communities nationwide.
“According to our latest data, one third of food bank clients are children. While summer is often a time for children to enjoy activities, it also marks the end of essential in-school meal programs that help support one in three children living in food-insecure households,” says Erin Filey-Wronecki, Chief Development and Partnership Officer, Food Banks Canada. “Thanks to Bel Group Canada and all our valued donors who support our After the Bell program, we can help ensure that children across the country have a more enjoyable summer this year.”
In 2024, Bel Group Canada provided over $1M in products and donations to support programs like After the Bell.
