Boka Food cements 100% green traffic light credentials with relaunch

Boka’s range of cereal bars and multigrain granola with a vegan-friendly promise ads a new look and feel that accentuates its healthier tasty food and be transparency about what’s in food.

Boka is relaunching its full range of cereal bars and multigrain granola with a vegan-friendly promise and a new look and feel promoting its front of pack green traffic light labels.

As HFSS restrictions come into force in October 2022, Boka said the rebrand will allow consumers to “quickly identify the nutritional health benefits” and give it more standout on shelf.

The new Boka cereal bars are already in Booths and Sainsbury’s stores.

Boka’s owners say it is the “only cereal bar brand in the UK with all green traffic lights and one of the first to be 100% HFSS compliant”. This is a key advantage for the brand as competitors seek to reformulate their products to capitalise on promotional opportunities in-store.

Franco Beer, founder of Boka Foods said: “Our range of cereal bars and granola demonstrate that being healthy and delicious works. Our sales have grown exponentially in the last 12 months and customer feedback is incredibly positive.

Our rebrand puts a keener focus on our front of pack green traffic lights which will help us stand out from the crowd. We have also reformulated our range to be 100% vegan-friendly.

“Consumers are trying to make healthier choices but unfortunately the snack bar industry is misleading them with confusing added health benefits, disparate labelling and vast amounts of hidden sugar, especially concealed under the “no added sugar” banner. It’s time for change.”

Boka has spent six years innovating and developing a low sugar, low fat and low salt range of cereal bars which are under 100 calories a bar and importantly, taste delicious.

The reformulation is across all four Boka (30g) cereal bars; Apple & Cinnamon, Strawberry, Choco Mallow and Caramel. They are available in Sainsbury’s, Booths and online at Amazon. RRP £2.45 for 4x30g bars. Single bars also available (£0.85)

Boka Granola includes super-grains and is available in Strawberry, and Apple & Cinnamon and are available in 400g boxes with a RRP of £3.50.

The Boka range is completed with its HFSS compliant sugar and fat-free Mini Marshmallows.
