François-Philippe Champagne, federal innovation minister, announced funding for five Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) networks, including the Canadian Food Innovation Network (CFIN).
CFIN is receiving an additional $8.6 million to accelerate research and development in food processing and production technologies. Since April 2021, CFIN-funded companies have created over 350 new jobs and leveraged $21 million in private-sector investment.
This investment aims to strengthen Canada’s food innovation ecosystem, drive technological advancements, and support the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector.
