Concept designs for Ontario agri-food science centre to be unveiled at annual meeting

The Board of Directors of the Ontario Agri-Food Discovery Centre (OAFDC) will hold its annual general meeting (AGM) Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Trillium Mutual Insurance, 495 Mitchell Rd. S., Listowel.

Moriyama Teshima Architects, selected from a field of 41 submissions from architectural firms across Canada, will present an overview of the newly developed concept designs for the proposed Agri-Food Science Centre.

The design team is led by Diarmuid Nash, one of Canada’s most accomplished architects and recipient of the Ontario Association of Architects’ 2022 Lifetime Design Achievement Award.

In a press release, OAFDC recognized funding support from the Agricultural Adaptation Council and the Gay Lea Foundation.

“The unveiling of these concept designs marks an exciting step toward realizing Canada’s first ag science centre,” said Steve Dolson, OAFDC chair. “This vision represents years of collaboration, passion and commitment. We’re thrilled to share this progress and continue building something truly transformative for Ontario’s agriculture and food sector.”
