Corona turns the heat up with the rollout of Corona Tropical

Corona is rolling out Corona Tropical nationally to tap into the growing alcoholic sparkling water market

The alcoholic sparkling water made with real fruit juice (from concentrate) will have availability in single and 8x330ml formats in grocery and convenience channels and will launch in a single 330ml can in the on-trade.

Corona Tropical comes in three flavours: Guava & Lime, Raspberry & Lemon and Grapefruit & Lemongrass. It contains 96 calories and 2.4g of sugar per 330ml can.

Corona Tropical is a drink designed to offer consumers refreshment when they want to explore beyond beer.

Corona Tropical enters the rapidly growing sparkling alcoholic beverage market. The alcoholic sparkling water category has been rising year-on-year, forecasted to be worth £17m in value by the end of 2022, equating to a 193% growth.

Liz Hemus, Corona Tropical marketing manager said the release follows a year of innovation for the brand after the launch of Corona Cero in March.

“We’re excited to expand our super-premium portfolio beyond beer to cater to even more consumer needs. Corona is renowned for its refreshing taste and quality – placing it in the perfect position to grow this category with a super-premium proposition,” Hemus said.

The World Beer segment continues to grow in popularity, Corona has led this trend with volume sales growth of 38.7% since 2018.

Corona Tropical will offer consumers a super-premium beer alternative and give customers the chance to buy into the biggest launch of the year in this emerging category to boost their sales.

Corona said it is the brand that is driving the most consumers to trade up to super-premium presenting a fruitful sales opportunity for both on and off-trade customers.

To support the launch, Corona Tropical launched a nationwide marketing campaign including installing a real fruit billboard in central London, alongside digital and out-of-home media to showcase the quality refreshment credentials of the brand.
