Costco November sales: Canada up 7.9%

Costco Wholesale Corp. November comparable sales (excluding impacts from gasoline prices and foreign exchange) for Canada increased nearly 8 per cent for the four week period and 8.2 per cent for 12 weeks.

U.S. comp sales were 3.0 per cent for the four week period and 2.6 per cent for 12 weeks. International comp sales were 8.8 per cent and 7.1 per cent for the four and 12 week periods respectively.

E-commerce sales grew 9.9 per cent in November.

Costco reported net sales of $20.14 billion for the retail month of November, the four weeks ended November 26, 2023, an increase of 5.1 per cent from $19.17 billion last year.

For the twelve weeks ended November 26, 2023, Costco reported net sales of $56.71 billion, an increase of 6.1 per cent from $53.44 billion for the twelve weeks of fiscal year 2023 ended November 20, 2022.

Costco says net sales were benefitted by approximately one-half to one per cent in the U.S. and worldwide from the shift of the fiscal calendar, as a result of the fifty-third week in fiscal year 2023.
