We caught up with co-founder Dr. Simon Pimstone to learn more.

Q: For those who aren’t familiar, what is XYON Health?

A: XYON is a digital hair health company I founded alongside Dr. Victor Hasson, a world-leading specialist in hair restoration. Similarly to the men’s line, these clean beauty products are colour-safe and cruelty-free, and can be used for standalone daily hair and scalp improvement.

In addition to the over-the-counter line, we also offer customers access to specialist physicians who are able to prescribe bespoke topical and oral treatment plans, individualized for each customer, designed to optimize delivery of medications to the hair follicle and in the case of the topical formulations, also designed to limit absorption of medications into the body. These treatments are prescribed through digital consultations with medical specialists who can assess your hair loss and provide treatment plans in a discreet environment. Customers can also access medical information via XYON’s content library, social media channels, videos and podcast series with leading hair and skin experts.

Q: Is there a story behind the name?

A: The name XYON is a play on the spiritual reference to “Zion” as an idyllic place or state of being. “X” alludes to the female chromosome, and the term “ON” in XYON, references the topical element of the brand with XYON offering numerous solutions that are applied ON the skin to maximize exposure to the hair follicles.

Q: Is there a “hero” product in the line?

A: The two hero products of this line are the Revitalize Hair Serum, which is set to launch later spring, and the Nourish Perfecting Hair Oil, marking XYON’s first entries into these respective product categories.

The serum blends its powerful actives with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that employ multiple mechanisms to stimulate hair follicles and reduce shedding. This plant-powered serum is designed to stimulate hair follicle regeneration and decrease hair follicle miniaturization for vibrant and naturally beautiful hair. Key active ingredients include botanical peptides, sabal fruit extract and caffeine.

The hair oil is also enriched with a high concentration of nourishing oils and natural actives. This lightweight formula is designed to soften, smooth, and restore luminosity to hair, while protecting it against environmental and physical stressors.
