DoorDash and Lyft Partner to Cross-Promote Rideshare and Delivery Benefits

DoorDash and Lyft are working together to combine ridesharing and delivery benefits. Members of the DashPass loyalty program can now receive monthly rideshare benefits with Lyft at no additional cost, and eligible Lyft users will get a free DashPass trial. DashPass and Lyft members can link their accounts here.

Benefits include:

  • 5% off on-demand Lyft rides and 10% off scheduled airport rides (up to four per month combined);
  • Two free Lyft Priority Pickup upgrades per month; and
  • A three-month free DashPass trial for new members.

DashPass members and Lyft riders who link their accounts by Dec. 31, 2024, will get an upgraded perk of 50% off up to four scheduled airport rides (up to $25 per ride) through the end of the year, and 50% off one DoorDash order (up to $10).

“Since the launch of DashPass, we’ve been focused on building a membership program that provides tremendous value by helping people save on everything from restaurant meals to groceries to entertainment,” said Prabir Adarkar, President and COO of DoorDash in a statement. “Our partnership with Lyft, a leader in the transportation space, gives DashPass members yet another way to save on the things that matter most to them.”

The companies also unveiled a nightlife report identifying the best cities for nightlife and late-night cravings. Austin, Texas was identified as the best party city; 23% of Lyft rides between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. were to bars and entertainment venues, and the top late-night craving there are tacos. Honorable mention goes to Columbus, Ohio, which has a nightlife dominated by Ohio State University students, and their go-to late-night craving is cheese sliders.

Lyft has not been as visibly active with partnerships as its competitor Uber, although the rideshare service did partner with Rokt in August 2023 to bring more personalized ads to app users in the U.S. and Canada. DoorDash debuted a commerce platform and mobile app support for merchants last month, and also added Wegmans to its roster of delivery partners last month, the latest in a group of retailers including Aveda, H Mart, Mattress Firm, Lowe’s and Sephora.
