DoorDash kicked off its expanded partnership with Wegmans Food Markets by offering on-demand delivery from the supermarket’s Maryland stores, with Wegmans locations in Virginia, North Carolina, New Jersey, Delaware and upstate New York available in the coming days and more stores to follow. DoorDash already had been providing delivery of ready-made meals from Wegmans Meals2Go, and will now make the chain’s produce, bakery items and other items available on the DoorDash Marketplace.
“DoorDash has been a great partner for our Meals 2GO program, and expanding our offering to include grocery delivery allows us to meet our customers where they are,” said Erica Tickle, VP of Marketing and Digital Growth at Wegmans in a statement. “Our goal is to make meals easy and help our customers live healthier, better lives through exceptional food. Expanding our delivery network is just one way we’re able to continue delivering on that mission.”
Additionally, DoorDash has added four regional grocery chains to its portfolio:
Like its competitors Uber Eats and Instacart, DoorDash has been adding both food and non-food retailers to its marketplace. In recent months DoorDash added Mattress Firm, Aveda, H Mart and Lowe’s to its roster of merchants and expanded its relationship with Sephora.
