Associated Grocers is pleased to announce two new additions to the AG family. Our entire sales team were on hand to help get the stores ready for opening day and we are so excited to welcome both to our growing group of AG Foods store in Western Canada.
On April 19, The Market in Bentley opened their doors to the grateful community of Bentley, AB and surrounding area. This location had sat empty for several years prior to new owners Brad and Andrea Bromley purchasing the property. Together with their family and investors, they took on an extensive renovation of the location from top to bottom, transforming a tired grocery store into a beautiful new market with a focus on fresh produce and meat. This location offers hot meals and ready to eat items from their kitchen and a full-service bakery and deli, along with all of the grocery essentials the community needs, as well as camping supplies for nearby Gull Lake seasonal residents.
On May 29, Associated Grocers welcomed another store to our AG Foods banner group: Ellis Street Market. Located on the North End of Kelowna’s downtown, just a few blocks from the shores of Okanagan Lake, Ellis Street Market offers the usual selection of fresh meat, produce, seafood and baked goods that you would expect to see in a modern store. However, owners Don, Mai, Chris, Sean and Pauline Pham, also wanted to bring a unique offering of Chinese, Indian, Filipino, Latino and Vietnamese items to their customers. They also own and operate Oriental Supermarket on Hwy 97 in Kelowna. General Manager, Chris Hansen, is excited for customers to see what they have to offer and to spend time in the store as he sees it as a destination for shoppers, with a 40-seat restaurant area, fresh, local produce offerings and unique grocery items. Customers will get all of this, plus the reasonable prices on conventional groceries that they have come to expect from an AG Foods store.
Associated Grocers is grateful for the opportunity to work with such wonderful independent retailers, who are committed to bringing fresh food and good value to families in the communities they serve
