Fenty Beauty pro offers tips to achieve the hottest holiday hair hack

And we got a lowdown on the look.

During a recent video call with Pauly Blanch, a Fenty Beauty Global Artistry Ambassador and celebrity makeup artist who has worked on famous faces such as Paris Jackson, Halle Bailey and Victoria Justice (to name a few), we asked the beauty insider to weigh in on the trend.

“I’m kind of screaming,” Blanch says of the haute holiday hair. Though, the beauty pro admits to being a bit reluctant at first.

“I will be very honest, I’m not a person who likes to dump a lot of shimmer on. I really like to do a lot of dewy makeup. I don’t really rely on shimmery or particle glittery stuff,” Blanch says.

But, after applying the product to a model’s hair during a recent photo shoot, he says he was hooked.

“It just looked amazing in the hair,” Blanch says, noting the effect is best on a deeper hair tone. “It kind of looks like that really fine tinsel you can get in your hair. It’s kind of like that.”

But, it’s something that you can A, do at home, and, B, achieve with products that are likely already in your makeup bag.

If you’re going to try the look with the Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil, Blanch recommends skipping the viral application technique of swiping your strands directly through the compact. Instead, the celebrity artist suggests applying the sparkling shimmer highlighter with a dense, Kabuki-style brush.

“I didn’t go compact to hair because … the compact is a hybrid — it’s a little wet — it really stuck to the hair. And kind of changed the texture of the hair,” Blanch says. “Straight from the kabuki, straight into the hair was perfection.”
