Fruit Attraction presents the Innovation Hub Awards

Madrid, 10 October 2024 – A total of nine fruit and vegetable products and services participated in the Innovation Hub Awards, defending their candidacy today, the last day of Fruit Attraction 2024A jury, made up of Ana Díaz Pérez, Sub-directorate General for Food Quality and Sustainability of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food; Alejandro Lorca Ruíz,  Sub-directorate General for Fruit, Vegetables and Viticulture; Agustín Palma Barriga, Deputy Assistant Director-General for Food Safety Management of the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN); Rubén Moratiel Yungueros, University lecturer and researcher at CEIGRAM – Dept. of Agricultural Production. Fitotecnia – Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Agronómica, Alimentaria y Biosistemas – Polytechnic University Madrid (UPM), and Luis B. Martín Martín, technical director of FEPEX, decided to award the Fresh Produce prize to the company RIJK ZWAAN IBERICA, the F&V Industry award went to AGERPIX TECHNOLOGIES, and in the category of Sustainability and commitment actions, the winner was TALLERES DAUMAR, which all received 2,000 euros each.

In the case of Fresh Produce, the company RIJK ZWAAN IBERICA presented its Orange Sunglow, the sweet and tasty watermelon characterised by its orange colour, juiciness and crunchy texture. An ideal choice for fruit salads and gourmet dishes.

In the Auxiliary Industry category, AGERPIX TECHNOLOGIES won with the product Aicrop, a private information engine that integrates official and updated data from the agricultural sector with the internal information of each company.  Its ability to process natural language facilitates decision making, providing accurate and personalised solutions that improve planning and maximise operational efficiency in agriculture.

And finally, in the category Sustainability and commitment actions, TALLERES DAUMAR presented Daumar Zero, a cutting-edge technology in its mono-material polyethylene containers which, without modifying their recyclability or their mechanical features, allows them to disappear in less than 24 months in a safe manner and without leaving toxins or microplastics.

The nine products recognised by the jury as finalists in the different categories were, in the Fresh Produce category: AGRICOLA SANTA EULALIA with Broko-Fresh; CAMPO DE LORCA with CRACKERS – Soy un Crack, and RIJK ZWAAN IBERICA with Orange Sunglow. In the F&V IndustryAEROBOTICS with TrueFruit Grade; AGERPIX TECHNOLOGIES with AICROP and VERTIGO TECHNOLOGIES B.V. with FMS-H Apple Scanner. And in the Sustainability actions and commitment category: EURO COMPANY SPA with Nut’s amore recyclable RPET trays; MYCOPHYTO with MycoBiomix, and TALLERES DAUMAR with DAUMAR ZERO.
