Golden Hooves doubles the size of its regenerative product line

Golden Hooves has announced the launch of a Double Gloucester and brand new cracker range, with all products available for retail from Tuesday 1 October.

Ahead of the release, the regeneratively farmed cheese and crackers will be showcased on Stand 1101 at Speciality & Fine Food Fair, giving delegates a first taste of the new products.

Joining Golden Hooves’ multi award-winning cheese line-up, the Double Gloucester is available in 200g pre-packs and 2.5kg blocks for deli counters.

Made using the recipe that was named Supreme Champion at the International Cheese & Dairy Awards 2023, this territorial cheese has a moderately firm body and a smooth texture, carrying a clean, well-balanced flavour with rich savoury and nutty notes, and a pleasant buttery mouthfeel.

Moving the brand into a new category, Golden Hooves Sage & Onion Crackers and Rosemary & Garlic Crackers are made using 100% regenerative flour and butter.

Available for retail in 90g boxes, these rustic and rugged, boldly flavoured crackers have been made for snacking, spreading and dipping, while also making a perfect partner for Golden Hooves cheese.

Part of British farmer-owned dairy co-operative, First Milk, Golden Hooves products are currently distributed across England, Scotland and Wales by wholesalers including Blas ar Fwyd, Castell Howell, Caws Cymru, The Cress Company, Curd & Cure, Longman’s and Rowcliffe.

The full range includes Golden Hooves Mature Cheddar, Vintage Cheddar, Smoked Cheddar and Red Leicester, alongside the new launches.

Using grazing cows to work the land with their hooves, Golden Hooves farms are taking steps to continually encourage plant and wildlife biodiversity, protect the soil and maintain living roots, a process which is believed to remove carbon from the atmosphere and sequester it into the soil.

Part of First Milk’s commitment to continual improvement, these activities are supported by extensive research to measure the impact that these initiatives are having on the soil.

Leona McDonald, director of Golden Hooves, commented: “Getting regeneratively farmed food and drink into more people’s homes is what we’re all about, so it’s incredibly exciting to be entering a new category with our crackers and expanding our cheese range still further with the arrival of our Double Gloucester. We’ve had this one up our sleeves for a while, after our recipe took the top prize at the ICDAs last year, but with Christmas coming, it seems like the perfect time to share it with the world.”

Golden Hooves’ Double Gloucester and full range of regeneratively farmed cheeses are available for retail in 200g pre-packs and 2.5kg deli blocks, while the new Sage & Onion Crackers and Rosemary & Garlic Crackers are available in 80g packs.
