RICHMOND, B.C., November 4, 2021 — Great Little Box Company/ Ideon Packaging (GLBC) recently took home two Excellence Awards at the Paperboard Packaging Council’s (PPC) 78th annual North American Paperboard Packaging Competition. The packaging designs recognized in PPC’s competition represent some of the best folding cartons and rigid boxes manufactured over the past year.
The awards are:
This take away food truck pays homage to the restaurant’s roots which started as a humble Food Truck in the local surf town, Tofino, B.C. From an image of the original food truck the structural designer worked to create a design that was both functional and unique which includes faux wheels, a back door that drops open to reveal the meal inside as well as a perforated awning which can pop open from the side.
The challenge was to design an elegant take away packaging which would both promote and celebrate the local craftsmanship and talent that went into making their true artisan gelato. This unique package was designed to assemble quickly, comfortably hold cold heavy pints and remain aesthetically pleasing.
