Bob Moore, founder of Bob’s Red Mill, has passed away at the age of 94.
A statement posted on the company’s official Instagram page states he was “full of the same love for wholesome foods as the day he founded Bob’s Red Mill. Bob’s passion, ingenuity and respect for others will forever inspire the employee owners” of the company.
Sandi Funk, export regional sales manager at Bob’s Red Mill, says Moore was “the biggest supporter of our Canadian business. He loved his trips to Vancouver and Toronto for CHFA [trade shows] and having the opportunity to meet and talk with our customers. He would ask often when we were goig back for a visit. He will be greatly missed.”
in 2010, Moore celebrated his 81st birthday by transferring his business to his employees through an employee stock ownership plan. He remained on the board of the company until his death. Moore launched Bob’s Red Mill in 1978 with his wife Charlee.
