The innovation program was presented by Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show and the Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada (AMC), with support from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA).

This program is a reflection of the exciting growth that continues in agricultural innovation with companies applying for recognition in five categories: agronomics, business solutions, environmental sustainability, equipment and livestock.

Winners were announced at the Craigowan Golf and Country Club Sept. 11, the night before the Outdoor Farm Show began.

The 2023 Innovation Program winners are:

Agronomics: A&L Canada Laboratories Inc. for its bio-stimulant AL-Bio7. The bio-stimulant is CFIA registered and works to improve soil and plant health by harnessing the beneficial properties of the bacterial strain AL-336.

Business Solutions: Agrilog, for its Agrilog platform, which simplifies managing grain inventories and traceability from their origin for growers.

Environmental Sustainability: Clean Works, for its Clean Flow process which uses light, a gentle mist and ozone to cleanse produce as it passes under a conveyor hood to virtually eliminate pathogens.

Equipment: Ag Leader Technology, for its Turnpath guidance system.  It works with steering guidance systems to improve accuracy and reduce operator fatigue.

Livestock: VETSon Veterinary Virtual Healthcare for Farm Animals.

You can visit each winner at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, and farmers are invited invited to select one overall winner from all five categories through the 2023 Farmers’ Choice Award.

The OMAFRA Innovation Pavilion is another place where you’ll find new technology and initiatives highlighted by several startup companies that have great new ideas for the advancement of agriculture.

Watch for special satellite locations by OMAFRA featured throughout the show that share the innovations driving productivity in the agriculture and food sector.
